About Me Budget Shopper
Comments about Bird Scarer Wind Sock:
WE HAVE AN A-FRAME HOUSE WITH LARGE 6 FOOT WINDOWS ON BOTH LEVELS. WE HAVE HAD SO MANY BIRDS FLY INTO THE WINDOWS BECAUSE THEY REFLECT THE TREES AND WOODS LIKE MIRRORS. SINCE HANGING THESE BIRD SCARER SOCKS ABOVE EACH WINDOW SO THEY HANG DOWN, WE HAVE NOT LOST ONE MORE BIRD. WE WERE SO IMPRESSED THAT WE ORDERED 2 MORE. THEY WORK GREAT AND MOVE IN THE SLIGHTEST BREEZE. SO HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!

About Me Midrange Shopper
I bought 6 of them to hang up around the house to keep the woodpeckers from making big holes in my cedar siding. I heard that the silver reflection keeps them away. The back doesn't have silver on it. It' has multiply colors, so when it did blow in the wind, all the silver color didn't show. I spent hours putting them up, because I had to climb up on a10' high ladder to screw in hooks to hang them on. I used those coffee hooks. It's best to bend the hooks closed or any high winds will blow them off & you'll have to bring the ladder back out & put them up again. You also have to hang them up high enough, since they're so long. They only needed to be 1/2 the length for them to be effective. You might want to cut them shorter, depending how high you have to hang them from. I had to put them on the top edge of the outer side of the roof that goes out further from the wall, otherwise, you'd have to screw in long brackets to hang it onto, so it keeps it away from the wall or it won't blow enough. Also, if they weren't far enough away from the cedar wood, it would get stuck to it & ripe them more. Any type of rough wall will do the same. The rain or wind kept tearing off the long strips or tear the top part & it fell to the ground. I had to design other ways to re-hook it back up & bring the ladder out yet again. I had pieces every day I was picking up off the ground or from the neighbor's yard. Now, they're all ripped & I have to climb back up once again & get the left over tops off & take the screws off. I really wish they were strong enough to withstand the wind or rain, since it's the wind that makes it blow to have the silver reflector shine. So disappointed and the hours it's taking me to deal with all the clean up these problems have created.

Bird Scarer Really Works
from Grand Prairie, Texas
We put it on the patio because the birds were messing up all our patio furniture. They don't seem to be coming on the patio now.

My brother said it was funny to watch the crows fly at it or try to walk where they are flying but over all does a good job at keepin them out of the garden

Great Results without Harm
By Bird Lady
from Oshkosh, WI
Put both of the bird scarer wind socks up as soon as I saw that the robins were back. They try their best to build nests in the open shed every year. The windsocks scared them away without harming them. They really work and I am very happy with the product,
