It is somewhat useful to avoid having to turn up the TV when I'm the only one who can't understand the dialog. It does not improve the frequency balance, though, just makes the sound louder. Unfortunately it makes all the sounds louder--speech from other people in the room (and my own speech) as well as the programming that I'm interested in amplifying.

I did not like the tutbo ear, too big.
