Comments about Aluminum Ice Cube Tray:
I grew up with this type of ice cube tray and know that they should be placed under hot water before trying to release the ice cubes and a little banging on the counter doesn't hurt either. That did not seem to help with the release. The aluminum is weak near the handle attachment. The handle attachment itself seems flimsy. The tray 'seems' to be constructed well, but this is not so. The aluminum literally tore on the ice cube section near the handle. A person shouldn't have to manhandle something to get it to work.
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend

Didn't love them
from Montgomery, AL
OK, the first thing was one of them had a hole in it when I received it. Didn't realize it until it leaked all over my freezer. The other two were fine but honestly getting the ice out is a major pain. I end up running water over them and then the ice freezes together in the bucket. Think I would have been just as happy with plastic ones.

Ice cube trays
from Port orchard, wa
The first time I used these one broke, the handle bent and everything came apart. The other one has held up so far. My suggestion is use care when lifting the handle and run warm water over the tray before trying to remove the ice. It is NOT like the old metal ice trays.

Poor quality Construction

READING THE REVIEWS FOR THIS PURCAHSE, SOME HAD A HARD TIME GETTING THE ICE OUT OF THE TRAY. IF YOU RUN WATER OVER THE TRAY AND LET THE TRAY SIT ON A COUNTER FOR A MINUTE THEN PULL THE LEVER TO RELEASE THE ICE, THE ICE COMES OUT OF THE TRAY WITH NO PROBLEM.YOU CANNOT FORCE THE LEVER TO OPEN WITHOUT RUNNING IT UNDER WATER FIRST AND LETTING THE TRAY REST OR THE LEVER WILL BREAK. THIS TRAY IS WONDERFUL AND THE ICE CUBES ARE A NICE SIZE.
Bottom LineYes, I would recommend this to a friend

These trays are much better than the plastic or silicone ones and much easier to empty as well. The ice freezes quickly and the handle cracks the ice loose really easily. Love 'em.

Won't purchase this item
from East Lynn, WV
I too purchased these because they reminded me of the ones we had when I was little. They came to me all dented and dinged. Was able to work those out butI tried everything to make them work, ran them under water, didn't fill them full and yet the handles still snapped off. Very disappointed in this product. Have purchased other items from Walter Drake and have enjoyed them so thought this item was safe to purchase as well. Really think they should be recalled and credits issued to the buyers. Need to provide stainless steel handles on these trays.

I remember these ice trays as a kid, I liked them very much as a kid, and I really like the ones I got now.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
1st time I made ice with the tray the tray stuck to my hands an the handle bent. I tried different method to try and save the trays but there just to flimsy. Running water over the bottom of the tray got the ice and divider out but the handle still not strong enough to get ice out. My mom & dad had the old style of these and they lasted years, These did not last a mounth.
