Energy Saving Solar Curtain Panels
from Enumclaw, WA
About Me Budget Shopper
Comments about Energy Saving Solar Curtain Panels:
My bedroom window is across the street from a bank and the cars that come to the ATM at night all leave their lights on shinning into my bedroom. The solar curtain blocks out their lights, plus keep the warmth in and sun out when needed. I have used the one I have for 12 years and am about ready to buy a new one.

don't have one

Keeps my electric bill down, keeps the heat and the sun out, I have 3 big windows facing South, Large windows facing West and no trees to block the Sun. I did learn that having mini blinds will scortch from the heat, that is how well the curtain keeps the heat out of the rooms, so now I put the curtain more directly in front of the window instead of on a curtain rod, and the mini blinds stay ok that way.

energy saving solar panels for windows
I put them up in my family room and my bedroom. Keeps out hot sun and I can see if anyone is outside yet they cannot see inside to me. I live by myself and sometimes peoples pull into my drive and I want to see them before they see me.

I live in New Mexico, HOT. My home isn't the most energy efficient, OLD, but the moment I put these up on my south facing windows in my living room there was instant relief from the heat. Not kidding, INSTANT. You can still look out and no one will be able to see in. Not the best looking from the outside, reminds me of my tinfoil teenage days, but having mini blinds in front of this solar curtain and sheers on the inside of the curtains helps. I'm buying more for the rest of my windows.

I've only had them up for a few days. I put weights along the bottom to help them hang better and had to trim off the bottom for a better fit. Anyway you look at it they are ugly, but I don't care, my apartment is cold and I'm hoping these curtains help

would not buy again
from philadelphia, PA
I thought they would help with the cold and keep in the warm. It's like putting tin foil that is as thick as a tissue and is just ugly. I did try them for 2 weeks and had to take them down.

An ABSOLUTE MIRACLE
from Hoboken, NJ
These have SAVED MY LIFE this summer. I live in a 100 year old building with no insulation and very old windows, and in an urban, hot envoironment. They have cooled my apartment down about 20 degrees, and my air conditioner isn't laboring to try to keep the rooms cool any longer....if anything the rooms are a bit too cold now! They will save me a hundred bucks in energy this summer, I'm sure. There should be a LAW that people have to use these!! They aren't the most attractive things from the outside (from the inside you can't even see them, I have them behind my regular drapes right up against the glass), but WHO CARES!? They are truly a miracle, and I could not be happier. Bought a backup set for next year!

I had these years ago and was able to drop the temperature in my house at the time by 15 degrees or more. Wonderful for those long hot summers.I like the fact that you can still see through them while they are working their magic of cooling my house.
works great for what I needed

I use these so that it will keep out the blaring sun and most of the heat while I can still see outside. I do close the venetian blinds during the direct sunlight as it is blinding from the West. They work perfect for me.
