switch for bagel/toast wouldn't work. had to put toast thru twice. shame, I really like the idea of this toaster. Too late to send back. for the price thought it would be a better quality item.
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend
About Me Gourmet Chef
This is an excellent product except for one major flaw: it is not deep enough to toast the top one inch of a slice of bread. I would, however, purchase this for gifts for family and friends. I am extremely pleased with this toaster even if I had to waste slices of bread to set the proper setting because the controls were inaccurate.

the slide down unit is a joke. i hit the cancel button as soon as i see a little smoke coming out and the toast is perfect.

I am disappointed that it does not toast evenly. The lower part of the bread is sometimes dark/burned and the top part not toasted no matter how I put the bread in.

This is the perfect toaster. NO MORE BURNED FINGERS.
Good for bagels
from Drain, Oregon
I had hoped this would solve all my toasting needs, but the wires that move the toast to hold it while it toasts do not move in together, but one wire moves the bread to one side and it toasts or burns on one side and leaves the other not toasted, or very little. It does a good job on thick breads, bagels and muffins, so I will keep it and use my other one for the thin stuff.

Don't use a picture to judge

It is hard to do a review without mentioning pricing. But here goes... I use the product in my kitchen for toast only. There are two really great things about this toaster. First I love that it is slim, which allows me more space on my small counter top. second, this is the only toaster I've EVER had, that no matter how dark you like your toast, they come out soft, not brittle. These are two very important issues for me, so double thumbs up for that! However, I was disapointed because it is advertized as a "slide thru" toaster, which in actual fact it is not. It is simply a pop down rather than a pop up. So it was not exactly what I had hoped for. I thought it was like a toaster I used in Jamaica where the bread actually 'slides' slowly thru the toaster and comes out the bottom. You could put one piece of bread in to start it sliding thru, and then put another peice seconds later, so you would have one toast buttered by the time the other came out. (There's nothing like hot toast.) Even the picture on the box makes it look like you can put one peice of bread in right after another. I guess bottom like is, really my only criticism is the way it is advertised. Because other than not getting what I expected, & the fact that it doesn't toast evenly, which doesn't bother me all that much. I must say, I really like this toaster.
