Should have returned the stool!

Comments about Handy Support Stool:
The particle board underneath the rubber mat on the stool was already chipped right out of the box. The screws came up through it in places when I assembled it. [...] Very disappointed. Directions were hand drawn sketched, very unclear, edges of some of the metal parts were rough, could easily tear an elderly person's skin if bumped. I bought this for my 90 year old mother-in-law to assist her in getting into bed. Not as described, that's for sure. I am currently looking for something local to replace this shoddy item. In order to steady the stool, you have to tighten the screws, but if you tighten the screws, they push through the particle board to the rubber mat which then creates another safety hazard, it impedes your balance.
Just what I needed

I can reach things without fear of losing my balance due to the nice sturdy handle. I wish it had another step and was a bit wider.
for that little extra reach

Get a safe boost!

It seems that most kitchens are built for someone taller than my 5"3". This stool allows me to reach the shelves without pulling out the ladder! My 3 year old granddaughter also thinks it is a seat just her size to make puzzles on the coffee table!
Very handy!

This stool makes it easy to reach into high cupboards, wash windows, and get my chores done.I wondered about the handle--if it would be strong enough--and it is. I can rely on this stool and it has provided something to hold onto steadying my balance. Putting it together was not as easy and I had to purchase a screw that was longer than provided, but that was a minor inconvenience.
Use It Often!

I feel very secure when I step on to the step stool and the handle adds to my security. Not too heavy to move around from place to place. Love it.
