About Me Midrange Shopper
This is a GREAT product. Please read recommendations:For those who say DO Not Buy, I recommend 2 things. First on the soda bottles, remove the ceiling ring (may be green for Mtn Dew, Red for DR Pepper etc)so that the spike will tighten properly. The more pointed neck bottles for some reason do not tighten as well. I use Mtn Dew Bottles (the green blends with the foliage. If we are going to be gone a several days I use the 2 liter Dr Pepper bottles because they are a thicker plastic. I currently have 24, and fixing to purchase 12 more

I have planters on the front balcony that I kept forgetting to water. Now with these, it no longer happens.

This item is supposed to slowly release water to the plants which is an especially good idea when you are traveling. Unfortunately in a test of the product and following all instructions, the water quickly poured out. I don't believe I can use these, tho I thought this was a great idea.
Bottom LineNo, I would not recommend this to a friend
I put them in every planter that I have.

It works! when you're not there

Use this when you can't be there to be sure your plants are watered. In this drought, they have water when they need it. The supply is not infinite, a backup plan is needed if you can't return before the water runs out. so Far, it is doing what I expected. It's limited only by what it can do. Try it.
These spikes do not work. I watered my plants, then added the spikes on 20 oz bottles. They bubbled away while the water dripped out the bottom of the hanging plant. It took about 5 minutes.I then rewatered and plugged one of the holes with superglue. It emptied in the same amount of time.

I would buy this product again

these are a great idea, they only have one set of holes and it needed more holes to get to the roots better. Once this was done it worked like the others I had bought from somenone else. Here is a great price and you get many at a time. I will always use these and it does a great job. I would recommend these to anyone that have asked what I am using and I show them and they say it is a cool idea...
I bought these to use while on vacation. I watered my plants like the directions say and after I stuck in my filled bottles the water just drained right back out of them. Thought it would be easier to fill and safer to use outside than the glass water globes but they are not.
A great solution for hanging baskets.

I am a lifetime ardent gardener, currently living in a second-floor apartment. Watering with a hose or a drip system is not feasible in this location. My spacious balcony (wooden planking) is a "garden" of container plants and hanging baskets. but since it overhangs a downstairs neighbor's patio, I have to be very careful with my watering - no accidental flooding, no dripping. Temperatures in Central Florida routinely reach over 100 degrees during the summer months, so regular watering is essential. The watering spikes are an ideal answer to both challenges - the baskets do not drip and the container plants take just as much water as needed without flooding the drip trays.
