Bought 3, gave two away. I recommend any hiker to carry as a supplement emergency notification device. You may be too tired to yell but blowing this whistle will REALLY get attention.

Since I walk 4 miles each morning at 4:30 AM, before it gets hot here in Arizona, I wear this and feel safer.

I am using this whistle to help me train my dogs. My dogs are responding very positively. It is very loud so I use it carefully for the sake of my neighbors.

handy in severe weather
from Huntsville, AL
I always wear this whistle along with a headlamp or flashlight during severe weather. Since the destruction of the EF5 tornados of Moore, AK 2013, Joplin, MO 2011 and my own homestate of Alabama in 2011, I hope this whistle would help rescuers find me if needed. I also plan to wear this when hiking, skiing or any backcountry activity; I just feel safer knowing I could alert someone to my whereabouts if needed with little effort.
