I live where it could get up to 124 degrees in the summer, I had tried several ways to cool down the house. Bought these to try, not expecting much, the family was blown away by how much cooler the house became once I hung these up. The inside temperature dropped by at least 15-20 degrees, win, win for me.

will my plants get enough light if I use these curtains?
A shopper on Jan 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I do not know about plants getting enough light, I use them to keep the cold out and to keep my pace cooler in the summer and for that they work grate, I would try them and see how your plants do, will not try to hurt, and it grate you can see out but people can not see in. I love using them Chris
ok, can they act as a emp barrier?
elizabeth r on Feb 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. No, this item will not block EMPs.We hope this information will be of help to you.
how many panels does it come with? 1 or 2?
A shopper on Oct 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Strange question given the dimensions of the panels in the catalog. I bought the largest size to cover my floor to ceiling windows and there is only ONE in each package. If you want to cover a narrower window, just cut the Mylar with a scissors.
what type of hardware is needed to hang them?
Wes S on Mar 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is really your choice- it depends largely on how and where you are using them. In our our house it is strictly for summer time during which we keep the blinds close covering these curtains (gotta keep out some of that 120 heat!). We usually a durable tape (usually I only need to use clear scotch tape) to hold it to the window thereby holding the curtain up without causing damage to your windows sill. Also, for trickier windows such as odd shape or oversized I use small tacks to support the taping.
Can you seethe true colors outdoors?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: you can see colors - not bright or clear - it is like looking through dark grey sunglasses on an overcast day
I got it to keep sun from overheating bedroom in afternoon and it works well for that
Do you Solar curtains big enough to fit a sliding door?
Walbert on Jan 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have sliding patio doors too, so I'm ordering 4 of the 36" x 81" panels for them . I'm considering taping them to the doors since I already have vertical blinds , but wanting them for added privacy from our back door neighbors. Wish they carried vertical hanging privacy screens the same length to go with my outdoor curtains on my patio for added privacy as well
Shiny side outward or on the inside for privacy?
A shopper on Oct 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It depends on which time of year you use them. Put the shiny side out in the Summer ( to reflect light) and then reverse it in the Winter. There is privacy either way. You can see out but they can not see in. (If they start to fade, then people can see in.) Buy new ones-- very inexpensive!
do these panels come 2 to a pack?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: NO only one to the pack. I love mine. I use them winter & summer but especially like the summer time as I had some plants the literally burned up because of the hot sun. I won't be without them.
Faye from Va.
My windows are 54 h, by 33 wide each. How could I do that?
angel on Nov 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The Energy Saving Solar Curtains come in the fallowing sizes 30" x 63", 36" x 63" and 36" x 81". The best way would be to use the 36" x 63" and cut to fit. We hope this information will be of help to you.
I have patio doors in my kitchen i know i need81 long 36 wide how many panels do i need?
Deborah W on Mar 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. We suggest you order two. We hope this information will be of help to you.
what is it made of?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is like a plastic wrap. After a few years, it crinkles and becomes flakey. If I read this I would not buy. However, my Mom’s eyes are super sensitive. One she has basically no vision and she bought these the first time. They were amazing and were worth every penny. When they fell apart, bought more. We use them on the west side of the house where the sun is brutal in the afternoon. Might not last long - but I will buy again!
the size is width by length correct?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. 30" wide x 63" long, 36" wide x 63" long and 36" wide x 81" long. We hope this information will be of help to you.
Is this Mylar? How durable?
A shopper on Feb 17, 2017

Steph J on Jun 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. At this time the 36" x 81" is not available and do not have a time frame of when it will be back in stock. We hope this information will be of help to you.

My problem window dimension is 35 in long by 45 inches wide - would the fabric from a larger curtain be sturdy enough for me to cut and sew a new slot for a rod ? or could the fabric handle hot glue? I'm thinking of turning it sideways and making it fit.
MARY Z on Nov 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This item is not meant to be sewn or glued. It can be cut smaller. We hope this information will be of help to you.
