About Me Meticulous Cleaner
This is a handy thing to have in case of power outages or to bring along on camping trips. It takes a lot of cranking to generate power though. I like that it takes batteries. Very convienient that this is able to charge phones. I like the radio but I wish it would let you see the station numbers. All in all, a good product to have.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Casual Cleaner
This product is not good for charging a cell phone. I got this to use in case of power outage and did not realize that I had to use the crank to power up my phone. I am returning this item.

I live in tornado alley and the lights go out quite often. I keep the flash light in my night stand so if is easy to grab.

So, about the only thing that actually works well on this device is the light. Spent between 5 and 10 minutes cranking the heck out of it, and couldn't get any charge going to my cell phone and couldn't pick up a radio signal in the house. Added batteries to help with the charging as suggested in the instructions and I was finally able to pick up a radio signal, but without any sort of external antenna, it was still very weak. (Also, there's no actual dial for radio, just up and down buttons, whivh makes it nearly impossible to tell where you're at on the radio band.) Still couldn't get a charge going to my cell phone after several more minutes of cranking. Also, the kickstand was constantly coming loose and getting in the way of the crank. Ended up returning it since I got it as an emergency backup power source for my phone.6
