Comments about Microwave Popcorn Popper:
I M NOT A BUTTER USER SO THE BAGS OF POPCORN WERE NOT WORKING. THIS LITTLE CONTAINER MAKES LOTS OF POPCORN, FRESH WITH A STRAINER AT THE TOP FOR BUTTER IF WANTED. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR MONTHS AND I AM SUPER HAPPY I FINALLY FOUND IT. GREAT BUY - SHOULD BE IN EVERY HOUSEHOLD.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Helps to make healthy, economical snack.
I bought this to replace a slightly bigger similar microwave popper since my old one cracked. I wanted it to make popcorn with no salt added for health reasons. Have not used this one yet but the older one was used frequently and helps save money too.
Good item for me

Would you believe it's also a steamer?

W bought this to use w/ the type of Orvil Redenbacher popcorn that comes in a jar. Roughly 1/4 C. to 1/3 C. of kernels serves two, as we don't eat a lot at once. It works great, although we don't recommend melting butter in the top center. It gets messy, and butter may end up coating the microwave. (To melt butter or a combination of olive oil/butter, use a microwave-safe custard cup or something similar, covered with a small, upside down paper plate instead, in a separate operation.) What I wanted everyone to know is that it can be used to steam frozen veggies too. Just dump in the veggies from one of those pesky frozen food bags that AREN'T designed as "steam in" bags, add a couple of tablespoons of water and sprinkle with something like all-purpose seasoning and/or salt/pepper. Snap the lid on the bowl, cover the slots in the lid with the center portion of the "boil over preventer" also sold on this site (fits perfectly), and zap the covered bowl on high for the usual 5 or 6 minutes mentioned on the veggie bag. Our local grocery sells mixed frozen squash that isn't in a steam-in bag, but we love squash, so this combination of handy kitchen items gets frequent use. May even buy a second popper to use, as the two of us need to run the dishwasher only every two days. My husband enthusiastically adds butter or butter w/ olive oil to the squash in the bowl right after it comes out of the microwave, instead of adding butter to his own serving or melting butter separately. That means I can't just rinse the popper clean and reuse the next day.

This is my second purchase of this item. I loved mine so much, I bought one for my 91 year old father, who loves popcorn. (I didn't want him to continue exposer to the chemicals in the microwaveable bags.) His microwave is a different wattage than my own, so after a bit of adjustment, he gets perfect popcorn every time as well! Cheers daddy.
I love popcorn, but the store bought bags, although convenient, contain a lot of carcinogens. Making it from kernels is not only healthier, but with this popper, it is convenient and saves a lot of money. Directions say that it pops 2/3 of the kernels, but I find that it popped more than that. Not a single kernel was burnt and the butter dispensed more evenly than anything I have ever seen. Very practical and economical. All microwaves vary, so you just have to find the right popping times for yours. I am going to buy another one for my 91 year old father.

WOULD NOT RECOMEND TO BUY THIS PRODUCT, IT POPS THE KERNALS SOMEWHAT, BUT WHEN YOU PUT A PAT OF BUTTER ON THE KERNALS DO NOT POP RIGHT AND THEY BURN I TRIED IT WITHOUT THE BUTTER BUT THEY STILL DIDN'T POP ALL THE WAY LIKE THERE SUPPOSE TO. I'M STILL LOOKING FOR A GOOD POPPER
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
