Comments about Pineapple Slicer And Corer:
This is a cheap plastic device that is neither sturdy nor effective. It can only be functional on short, narrow pineapples based on it's size. Thinking this might be a clever summer tool, I bought several to give as house gifts and now am about to throw them away. One last thought....the package did not contain any directions or illustrations on how to use this so the dealer had to mail them to me.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

worked for me
from Ansonia, CT
While using the slicer, it repeatedly slipped out of the clip, and ended up mushing the pineapple.

My husband and grandson love pineapple but I didn't buy it much because it was a hassle to cut, they love this thing, it's easy to use and makes perfect slices for them. Now I buy pineapple a lot more frequently and everybody's happy!
Hard to use
Required 2 people to both hold the pineapple and use the corer. Also very hard to turn the handle and get it to move to cut the pineapple.

pineapple slicer, good deal
from Gainesville, Fl
I like the fact that there are 2 sizes. the was no waste when the right size is used. It is eazy to clean. and easy to handle. I'm not that strong and don't need to be.

I've owned one identical to this (more later) for several months and have used it 3-4 times, each time with increasing success. Tips:1. Choose a pineapple that is tall and skinny rather than short and fat (the cutting blade is faily small diameter)-- don't want to waste your juicy pineapple!2. The more pressure/leverage you can exert, the thicker your slices will be. I suggest working on a low table, or placing the topped pineapple on a towel in the sink. It helps to have someone else grasp the pineapple to prevent it from turning.3. When done (1.0-1.5" from bottom), pull sliced pineapple out directly over a large bowl so that you don't lose even 1 drop of the delicious juice!A more expensive stainless steel model (with metal blade) is available online. This would likely cut more easily and with less pressure. There are also sets with 3 diameters of cutters included, suitable for "fatter" pineapples.
