does not crush ice as shown
By The Cook
I am very careful when using these type of products. The ice does not crush in a form similiar to snow cones.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not a lot of thought went into this prod
from Lake Arrowhead, CA
Yes the ice crusher was very difficult to hold on to while cranking the handle but I'm strong and after putting it on a kitchen towel so it wouldn't slip it was a little bit easier to use. HOWEVER it would have been nice if they had used metal parts that don't rust!!!!! After some use, my ice started coming out brown. When I disassembled the ice crusher the metal parts were all rusty. I will say however that I had this product tucked away for a few years before I started to use it and had no purchase records.[...]

You need a tacky surface to keep the bottom still while you crank. It did a great job crushing ice cubes for my fruit drinks.

I love this ice crusher! I just wish it wasn't so hard to hold on to while your turning the crank. I love having the crushed ice with my iced tea!!

About Me Avid Cook
I have actually had to put the ice in a plastic bag and beat with a mallet before putting it in the ice crusher for it to work properly.

It simply wouldn't crush the ice at all effectively. My husband tried it too with the same dismal results.
Not for the Handicapped
from Tucson, AZ
I am handicapped, so I don't know if this reviewis fair. When I tried using it (following theinstructions), I put ice in it and couldn't turnthe handle at all and chased it all over my counter. I started removing some of the ice andafter getting down to one ice cube and havingthe same issue, I enlisted others' help, we didmanage to get about 4 oz. of crushed ice. In allthe many years I have never had to return an item. This will be my first, however, I will alwayswant to check WDrake first for availability!!!

I suppose with very careful handling it would have lasted longer but if so it's not built for longevity.
