I am looking for extra deep supports for my elderly mother's bed so that we can lower the mattress closer to the floor. How deep top to bottom are the wooden rails?
Susan M on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Thes larger brackets will drop the mattress about 4-5". But the overall height is determined by the distance from the floor to the top of your side wooden rails, plus the height of the mattress itself.

When my Dad was here and needed a lower bed, we did away with the bed altogether and set the box springs on the floor with the mattress on top. Perfect height!!
